Severe Weather Conditions

Dear Parents and Carers,

The following information has been sent to us from the Department regarding severe weather conditions:

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) has issued a warning about severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected to affect NSW today and Friday. This may lead to flash flooding, riverine impacts and closed roads. Conditions are expected to improve on Sunday.

Your school is not required to temporarily cease operations, however, conditions can change quickly so please take a moment to review the following information:

  • Be ready to activate your emergency management plan and be aware of flood or storm impacts that may affect the school or access to and from the school.
  • For more information on forecasted severe weather, refer to Bureau of Meteorology Warnings Summary webpage.
  • We strongly recommend you download the Hazards Near Me app (and set a watch zone for your school) to stay up to date with any warnings that may be issued for your area, including severe weather and flood warnings.
  • For information on road closures, visit the Live Traffic NSW website.
  • Information can also be found on the NSW SES website and through local media (ABC radio).

In case of emergency, please always dial Triple Zero (000).

PLEASE NOTE:  Our Recognition Ceremony scheduled for tomorrow (Friday 5 April) will be going ahead at this time.  Please continue to check the APP for updates.  We will also inform you of any changes to school routines should they occur via the normal communication channels.

Kind regards,

Bronwyn Wilson - Principal
