Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Dancesport Gala Night
In Term 3, our Year 5 students participate in the Dance Sport program – an exciting opportunity that combines creativity, teamwork and personal challenge. While the program is engaging and fun, it also aligns closely with the NSW Department of Education’s High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) Policy, which aims to recognise and develop students’ talents across four key domains: intellectual, creative, social-emotional and physical.
"On Wednesday, Year 5 had an incredibly fun night of ballroom dancing. We did four dances including the Cha Cha, Tango, Salsa and Jive. We had four couples who entered the finals and they came in tenth, ninth and two fourth places. We're thrilled to say everyone did great, most people made it to the second round doing incredibly in all dances.

Fiesta Day
At the end of Term 3 Fiesta Day is always a fantastic success! With delicious food, engaging entertainment and a vibrant festive atmosphere, the event truly brings everyone together. The creative stalls, run by enthusiastic students from Years 3 to 6, showcase great dedication and spirit, while for our K-2 students, it is almost better than Christmas!. Everyone has a wonderful time, all while supporting important children’s charities, Stewart House and The Sydney Children's Hospital.
STEAM and SPRING Showcases
Each year, our school celebrates student learning and creativity through our annual showcase events. We alternate between a SPRING Showcase and a STEAM Showcase, inviting parents, carers, and family members into our school to experience the incredible work our students have produced. These events highlight the wide range of learning taking place across all year levels — from artistic performances and creative displays to innovative projects in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics — providing a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate student achievement.
100 Days of Kindergarten
Each year, our Kindergarten students celebrate a significant milestone: 100 days of learning and fun! This special occasion marks a wonderful achievement in their academic journey and offers a fantastic opportunity to reflect on all they have accomplished so far.
A Day of Excitement and Learning is had by all! Our Kindergarten classrooms transform into vibrant hubs of creativity and celebration. Students participate in a variety of engaging activities centered around the number 100. From crafting unique art projects to counting 100 items, the excitement is palpable. Our young learners showcase their understanding of numbers while enjoying hands-on experiences that fostered their love for learning.
Book parade and Author Visit
"Each year, we celebrate our Book Character Parade and Author Visit day. It is a fun, adventure-filled day, where students come to school dressed up as a character from a book they’ve read. One year, I came as Evie from the Descendants movie series, but then someone called Melissa de la Cruz turned it into a book series called The Isle Of The Lost. I’m onto the third book in the series!
Lovely Mrs Greenwood organises an author visit in the library. Our special guest this year was Nathan Luff, who had lots of funny yet inspiring stories to share. He wrote the series Nerd Herd, based on his annoying brothers and a sheep he knew as a kid.
The main event that happens is the character parade. Classes are called up in order of their year. They walk around the circle made by the other students twice, showing off their amazing costumes, accompanied by music.
We are very privileged to have such a fun-filled, adventurous day and we thank the staff for making it happen.
Eve - 4/3B"
"Our children attended West Pymble Public School from Kindergarten through to Year 6, and we could not have been happier. We have the fondest memories of this time, all of the staff, teachers, office administration, and Bronwyn, the Principal, pour their hearts and souls into the children, creating a magical and happy place for them to thrive.
There is constant nurturing and encouragement, and the sense of community is truly special. The beautiful, lush grounds always surprise visitors, it’s such a lovely little school where children feel safe, are encouraged to be independent and creative, and are genuinely seen.. WPPS will always hold a very special place in our hearts." — a parent of West Pymble Public School
